Shopify is entering the NFT space as the future of e-commerce. The online shopping giant allows small businesses to create e-commerce shops and now, Shopify added NFT the new feature for brands to make their stores look more exclusive. The narrator of the announcement video can be heard saying:

Shopify’s “GM” shop is now in beta mode and only those with the existing NFT collections will be eligible to apply for early access. Those not yet approved are still to add the NFT token app like Shopthru or Single to their Shopify storefront. As a part of the token-gated shop launch, Shopify revealed that it already partnered with Adam bomb, World of Women, Invisible Friends, Doodles, Stapleverse, and Cool Cats NFT collections to make token-gated storefronts.
In addition to online token-gating, Shopify is adding IRL token gating at the brick-and-mortar stores which means that only eligible NFT holders can buy merch at a physical location. So why does this matter? For one, it means that the future of Web3 shopping is all about exclusivity. While NFTs often is oversimplified as digital art and these blockchain tokens that signify ownership are being used as membership passes, tickets, or keys that unlock various perks. And this is not only Shopify’s first foray into the NFT the company has been nto Web3 for a while now and it announced the rollout of the NFT sales via the platform last year. On Shopify, the brand’s dan mint and sell NFTs to customers on Flow, Polygon, Solana, or Ethereum.
As recently reported, The merchants using the e-commerce platform Shopify can now also gain access to crypto.com as another way to accept crypto payments. Shopify expanded the options so now sellers using the Crypto.com Pay feature can allow customers to settle their accounts with more than 20 tokens. Strike as the payment network led by Jack Mallers announced for integration of bitcoin Lightning payments and the merchants will also be able to accept crypto with Coinbase Commerce and BitPay.
